Are you an experienced vegan activist? Are you organizing actions in your own community and eager to help newer activists do the same? Are you excited by the idea of growing and strengthening the animal rights movement? Do you have a specialized activism skill set that you would love to share with others? If you answered "yes" to most or all of these questions, we encourage you to apply to be an AAC Mentor!
As an AAC Mentor, you will be paired with an aspiring animal activist to help them achieve their full potential in creating change for animals. You can expect to spend about 1-3 hours per week on the program, including regular meetings with your mentee, sharing updates with the program lead, and attending a monthly mentor meeting.
Over the course of each three month program, you will support your mentee in identifying strategic opportunities for activism, connecting with other activists, and making progress toward their own unique activism goals. At the end of the program, your mentee will graduate with the skills and confidence they need to take impactful action in their local community!
In line with our vision for a world free of all animal exploitation, all mentors are required to live a vegan lifestyle.
We require at least one year of organizing/leadership experience for those engaging in on-the-ground activism. We also welcome applicants with specific skills helpful to the movement. The below skills are not required to apply, but they are extremely helpful to have!
If you're new to animal activism and looking for guidance from an experienced mentor, check out our Animal Activist Mentorship Program! This free program pairs aspiring activists with experienced mentors to help you achieve your activism goals.
